Privacy policy
Shared lake web edition · updated September 30, 2026
Data collection
The shared lake game sends your chosen skipper name, assigned boat color, boat and tube positions, and temporary session identifier to its server so other players can see you and boats can bump each other. No account is required. Use a nickname; your skipper name is visible to everyone on the lake.
Active lake state is stored on the server. Disconnected boats expire from play after about 15 seconds and stale session records are cleaned during subsequent lake updates. This edition has no advertising or analytics. The hosting provider may process normal connection information when serving the game.
Device access and network use
Open Water runs solo and leaves the shared lake. Your map choice, minimap preference, and optional skipper name are saved locally in your browser. The game does not request your real location, photos, contacts, camera, or microphone. The copied native mobile source is separate from this hosted multiplayer edition.
Changes
If a future version adds online services, analytics, advertising, accounts, or other data use, this policy and the applicable store disclosures must be updated before that version is released.
